[BY TELEGRAPH — PRKSS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, 12th January. The Becond wool ealo of the Reason was hold to-day, when 11,101 bales wore submitted. The chief fea'uro was the animated competition, for merinos, halfbreds, and fino crossbreed, all of which Bold at quite up to present London values. Following is a range of prices realised — Merino, super to good, Is to Is 3d : good to medium, lOd to 1b ; medium to inferior", Bj£d to 9£d; half-bred, super to good, ll|d to Is l^d ; good to medium, 9d to llid ; medium to inferior, 7d to Bjjd ; crossbred, Biiper to good, 10£ d to liid ; good to medium, Bid to lOd ; modium to inferior, 7d to BJd ; three-quar-ter and long wool, good to medium, 7j[d to 9d ; medium to inferior, 6£d to 7id ; pieces, super to good, 7.J>d to lOd; good 'o medium, ssd to 7id ; medium to inferior, 4-jsd to s^d ; bellies, good to medium, 6d to 7^d ; t medium to inferior, 4|d to s|d ; locks, good to medium, 44d to 6d ; medium to inferior, 2j>d to 4|d. The excellent piice of 16d per lb was paid for greasy wool. This is the highest obtained in the colony for thirty years, and was obtained for fivG bales of merino wether wool. WELLINGTON PRODUCE MARKET. Messrs. Geocge Thomas and Co. report wholexale produce prices as follows: — The demand for grain is dull, as is usual at. this time of the year when Rroen feed is so plentiful. We quote — Rollor flour, 200's, £7 10s per ton ; pollard, 75-* to 80s ; per ton ; bran in oversupply, at 60s ; prime short oats, 2s 4d to 2s sd : feed do , 2b 3d; long Tartais, 2s 4d; Duns and Black, 2s 4d to 2s 5d per bushel ; oatmeal has taken a further rise this week, and best 'brands are quoted at £11 f.o.b. South, the improvement has not yet affected values here, and local rates are from £10 to £10 10s per ton ; oaton sheaf chaff (old), 655 ; new, just to hand, at 62a od pei ton; good whole fowl wheat, 2a 9d; fair, 2a 7d to 2b 8d; food barley
is practically uiionqui'red for, and nominally worth 2a 4d per buhhol ; maizo in exceFO of demand at 3h 3d : bluo peas, beans, pearl barley, and split peas aro lifeless at following rates rospoctivoly, 3s 9d, 3s 3d, 13s, and 13a 6d. Tho market is now heavily supplied locally with potatoes, and pales arc hard to efi'oct at £2 10s to £3 per ton for liutt flukes or early roses ; onions aro now coming in ; Sydneys are worth 7s to Bft, and now Now Zoaland's 6a to 6s 6d per cwt ; now factory cheoso is firm at 5d per lb for modum and s£d for loaf sizo ; fresh butter, plentiful, at 8d to 9d for good to prime separator ; 6d to 6Jkl for fair to first-class dairy. Eggs are not at all briskly enquired for at Bid to 9d per dozen; best factory bacon, 6£d for sides j 7d rolls, and 7£d liama. The Customs duties collooted at the Port of Wellington for tho week ending to-day amounted to «£8!)5-J. 8s 4d. Beor, £'A 59 2s. Tho New Zoaland liorn and Mercantile Agonoy Company, Limited, is in receipt of tho following cabled message, dated 10th in«t., from its London houso — Tallcv— Thero is a good demand, and the market has advanced Is per cv.t. since last report.
