FRAUD ON THE TOTALLSATOR.
AN ARREST ON SUSPICION. [BY TELVSGBArH — PRKSS ASSOCIATION.] NAPIER, 2nd January. For six months past Messis. Stock and Co., totalisator proprietors, oofn f squaring accounts after every race meeting, have found that more tickets had been paid on than were issued, the total loss being between £700 and £800. After consultation with the printers a fresh set of tickets was issued with certain letters slightly mutilated, but otherwise the same as the old ones. To-day at Hastings a man handed in three tickets of the old style, which were immediately delected, and he was given ilnto custody. His name h William Marriott.
