The Lord Mayor of Lor don has cabled to the Premier asking him, if possible, to deliver four hundred snddLe and two hundred draught horses at tho Cape at the end of January for the use of the Imperial volunteers. MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS. CAPETOWN, 2nd January. A force of twelve hundred railway pioneers has been enrolled at the Cane.

Tho Premier has received a cablegram from the Secretaiy of (Stato for the Colonies stating that, owing to tho character of tho available accommodation on the Cape railways, the horses to be sent with tho Contingent should not be more than 15 hands 3 inches, in height.
