ESTIMATE OP THEIR STRENGTH. OPERATIONS HAMPERED BY LACK OP CAVALRY. (Received November 24, 9.25 a.m.) DURBAN, 23rd November. The latest estimate as to the number of British troops now in Natal show that there are abosut 9500 at Ladysmith and 14,000 divided between Durban, Maritzburg, and Estcourt. Lack of cavalry is delaying Major-Gene-ral Clery's advance from Estcourb to the relief of Ladysmith.
