QUEENSLAND'S MINISTRY MAY HAVE TO RESIGN. [press association.! BRISBANE, 23rd When the Legislative Assembly met today the Premier (Hon. J. R. Diokson) asked for an adjournment until Tuesdaj', on account of the narrow escape of Ministers from defeat on the previous night, when an amendment which had been accepted as a test of confidence had been defeated by only one vote. ■ * Mr. Dickson intimated that the Government could not go on with such a slender majority, aud that a caucus would be held to consider the position. (Received November 24, 9.40 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. The Premier was interviewed after the adjournment of the Assembly, and stated that if, at the meeting of his supporters, he found he had only a bare majority in the House the Government would certainly tender its resignation.
