BANKRUPTS PENALISED. THEIR DISCHARGES DELAYED.
[ax TELECnAPH—VRKSS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, This Day. Mr. Ju«tice Williams has suspended the di<chargo of Alfred Thomas Price, chemist, for twelve months; and that of Fran cis Heriot Laing for two years. In both cases the reason was that the bankruptcy wih partly attributable to gambling transactions. James Henley, labourer, had hU discharge suspended for twelvemonths f<«r not keeping proper boofc* of account with regard to the contracts in which ho vas interested.
Tho committee, teachers, and householders connected witb the South ■Wellnigton Public School have combined in promoUng a bazaar and exhibition of school work. Tho bazaar was opened thiii afternoon by the Hon. W. ij. Walker (Minister for Education), lfc.
