" SAUCY SUSIE." TO THE EDITOR.
Sir — I must ask space to correct a mistaken statement which appeared in your paragraph re " Saucy Susie " on Saturday night— viz., that I wrote most of the books of " Djin Djin " and " Matsa." If I allowed this to pass, I fear my character for veracity would justly suffer. To avoid this calamity I should like to make it clearly understood that the statement is erroneous. I collaborated with Mr. Williamson in writing "Matsa" and " Djtn Djin," but in both cases his was the guiding hand. In fadt^most qf -jay success 1 as a writer is due tb my 'association with Mr. Williamson — his kindly interest and able, experienced advice.,' .^o-I 1 am in a great measure indebted to him' for the f cultivati6n of whatever ability I may possess, and the scope his inventive inind-has given me. In the cases were I have collaborated with Mr. Williamson if kind admirers credit me with half the authorship (as advertised) they will do me ample justice, — J am, etc., Bert Royle.
