AQUATICS. [BY TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, 26th January.
In connection with the championship regatta, the people of Auckland are entertaining the visitors royally. All the crews are in active training, and there is every appearance of the meeting being a great success. There are six crews in the Championship Fours, but at present none is specially fancied. The race seems to be a very open one. The visitinej crews are — Wellington, Star, Pictou, Wanganui, Gisborne, and Poverty Bay. The local crews are —St. George's, West End, Waitemata, and Auckland.
Members of the Star Boating Club are reminded that the annual swimming sports take place to-morrow. There are nearly 150 entries, and a good afternoon's amusement may be expected. Admission wili be by ticket only, which can be obtained from the Hon. Secretary.
