WANGANUI v. HAWKES BAY. Napieb, 26th January. In the interprovincial cricket match Hawkes Bay y. Wanganui, the home team was at the wickets until half an hour before drawing stumps. All the visiting bowling talent was tried, the last wicket falling with the score at 383. Hawkes Bay was without the services of Lusk, Wilson, Fannin, and Cato. Cave, not out, 6. x THE NEW ZEALAND TEAM. Christchubch, 26th January. At a meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council to-day it was decided to request the New Zealand team to choose its own Selection Committee, and also decided to play a match at Auckland on the return journey on the same terms as those arranged with the Otago Association, namely, that the Auckland Association should be guaranteed against loss, and that the New Zealand Council should take the net proceeds. Lyttelton. This Day. The New Zealand cricket team sailed from this port by the Oonah to-day. PROGRAMME OF THE TOUR. The New Zealand team now consists of G. Mills and I. Mills (Auckland) ; H. B. Lusk (Hawkes Bay) ; P. L. Ashbolt and E. Upham (Wellington) ; C. Boxshall, L. T. Cobcroft, P. S. Prankish, D. Reese, and A. Sims (Canterbury) ; J. Baker, A. Downes, and A. H. Fisher (Otago). Tomorrow and on Monday, the team will play a match against a. thirteen of Otago at Dunedin, leaving after the match by the Waikare for Hobart. On the 3rd February, the players will reach Hobart, where they will stay at Heathorn's Hotel. On the 4th, 6th, and 7th February, they will play a match against South Tasmania, at Hobart, and on the 9th February they will leave by train at 8 a.m., arriving at 1.53 p.m. at Launceston, where they will stay at the Criterion Hotel The 10th, 11th, and 13th February will be occupied with the match against North Tasmania. On the evening of the 14th February they will leave Launceston for Melbourne, arriving in the Victorian capital the following day, and staying at the New Treasury Hotel, Spring-street. The match against Victoria will be played on the 17th, 18th, and 20th February, and on (the 21st February the New Zealanders will leave Melbourne by train at 5.15 p.m., arriving in Sydney the following day at 10.50 a.m., staying at Petty's Hotel. On the 24th, 25th, and 27th they will play New South Wales, and on the Ist March sail by the Elingamite for home. The steamer will arrive at Auckland on the 6th March, Napier on the 9th March, Wellington on the 10th March, Lyttelton on the 11th March, and Dunedin on the 12th March. To Mr. F. C. Raphael, of Canterbury, has been allotted the position of manager.
