THE AMEER'S ILL-HEALTH.

CABLE NEWS. [BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH. — COPYRIGHT.]

■ ' ■ ■» TROUBLE EXPECTED AS TO THE SUCCESSION. [PREBB ASSOCIATION.] (Received January 27, 9.10 a.m.) Cabul, 26th January. The Ameer is suffering from gout and diabetes, and his condition is serious. 1 His fourth son is the people's favourite prince, and trouble in regard to the succession is feared. [More than a fortnight ago we were informed that Abdurrahman's health was such that his medical adviser considered that he could not live long. As to the succession to his throne, the Ameer has four sons, of whom Sardar Habibulla Khan, G.C.M.G., is the eldest and Sardav Nasrullah Khau, G.C.M.G. (the Shahzada), who visited England in his father's stead in 1895— and proved a difficult guest to deal with — is the second. Unaar Jau, the prince indicated in the above message, though the youngest of the quartet, is born of a mother of higher rank than his half-brothers.]
