ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION.

Speaking in the Reichstag the Imperial Secretary to the Home Office stated that the projected Antarctic expedition in 1901 would cost 1,100,000 marks (£54,000). The Government would support the undertaking. He expressed the hope that Great Britain and the United States would cooperate with the Germans in carrying out the expedition.
