ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION.
[press association.] (Received January 27, 9.10 a.m.) Berlin, 26th January. Speaking in the Reichstag the Imperial Secretary to the Home Office stated that the projected Antarctic expedition in 1901 would cost 1,100,000 marks (£54,000). The Government would support the undertaking. He expressed the hope that Great Britain and the United States would cooperate with the Germans in carrying out the expedition.
