Christchurch, This Day. The members of the Wellington Garrison Baud returned to Christchurch by the express train last night from the contest at Dunedin, and were accorded a splendid reception by the local bandsmen. They were met by the local Garrison Band, who played them to .the hobel. The Stanmore Band returned by the same train. At the station there was a large concourse of the public, and members of the local Fire Brigade turned out. The Wellington Band was heartily congratulated on its win. The Garrison Band is expected to return ' to Wellington by the Rotomahana tomorrow.
