NEW ZEALAND WOODS. AN ORDER FROM THE ADMIRALTY.

[by telegraph — pbess association.] Auckland, This Day. Mr. Lamb, of Parker, Lamb & Co., the father of the New Zealand ornamental wood industry, has received a communication from the Admiralty asking for samples of New Zealand woods, with a view, it is understood, to ultimately usiug the material for the fittings in the Queen's new yacht. Mr. Lamb proposes to fit up a saloon railway carriage with ornamental New Zealand woods at his own expense as a travelling illustration of the excellence and variety of such woods in the colony. It is stated that the Minister of Railways has expressed himself favourably to granting permission when the application comes before him.
