At the inquest on the body of Ernest Nicklin the medical evidence showed that his death was due to a fracture of the neck caused hy a blow in the region of the larynx, and other evidence proved that Patrick Murphy struck him two blows under the ear, rendering Nicklin unconscious. After being picked up be gave no sign of life, death being instautaneous. The jury returned a verdict of manslaughter against Murphy, who will be charged at the Magistrate's Court accordingly.
