NEW SOUTH WALES v. VICTORIA.
Melbourne, 25fch December. The intercolonial cricket match Victoria against New South Wales was commenced yesterday. The wicket was considerably sodden owing to late rain. The first innings of the local team resulted in 189, towards which Worrall, who played a plucky and dashing game, contributed 109. His innings, which included 11 strokes for 4, and four for 5, was, however, marred by several chances. The other scores made were :— M'Leod, 9 ; Graham, 6 ; M'Michael, 17 ; Stuckey, 11 ; Layer, 6 ; Trumble, 0 ; Giller, 10 ; Bruce, 13 ; Warne, not out, 0 j Johns, 13 j extras, 6. _.
Bowling analysis — Howell, five wickets for 75 ; Coningham, two for 31 ; Donnan, one for 17. The first innings of the visitors concluded for 99 — Donnan, 2 ; Kelly, 13 ; Trumper, 4 ; Gregory, 5 ; lredale, 5 ; Pye, 2; M'Kibbin, 0; Howell, 2; Coningham, 7 ; Noble, 34 ; Mackenzie, 23 ; sundries, 2. Bowling analysis — Trumble, throe for 42 ; Warne, one for 4. The Victorians in their second innings have three wickets down for 120 — M'Leod, 18 ; Worrall, .23 ; M'Michael, 2 ; Giller, not out, 29 : Graham, not out, 45.
