[BY TELEGRAPH — PBEBB ASSOCIATION.] Invebcakgiix. 24th December. The cricket match did not start till 2 p.m. owing to unfavourable weather. The scores are: — Otago, first innings— Baker, 34 : Johnston, 0 ; Fisher, .68 ; Siedeberg, 2 ; Austin, 24 ; Geddes, 17 ; Black, 8 ; Best, 8 ; Webb, 12 ; Williams, 5 ; Holmes, 0 ; extras, 9 ; total, 187. Robertson took two wickets for 39 ; Taylor, four for 63*; and Purdue, two for 34. The Southland team commenced its first innings, but the rain again came on, and play closed for the day with one wicket down for 18.
