The Pekin correspondent of The Times states that an Imperial edict expresses regret at the Emperor's increasing ill-health, and recommends the Governors of all the provinces to scud their best physicians to his assistance. The British Consul at Canton is protecting the family of Kang Yu Wei, the fugitive ex-member of the Tsung-li Yatuen, who lost his office on account of his advocacy of the Western reforms which the Emperor had announced his intention to adopt.
