[press association.] Cairo, 27 th July. The Sheikhs of Kordofan, the great Soudan territory to the south-west of Khartoum, have presented a petition to the Khalifa requesting him to reside at El Obeid and Bara, two of their chief towns, if he is defeated at Omdurman. The Khalifa has consented.
