AFRICAN EXPLORATION.

« [press association.] Cairo, 14th March. The expedition to the junction of the Sobat River with the White Nile (which occurs some 50 miles to the south of Fashoda) under the leadership of Mr. H. S. H. Cavendish, the well-known explorer, cousin of the Duke of Devonshire, has been postponed. Mr, Cavendish returned recently from a remarkable journey round the west of Lake Rudolph, in the course of which he was within a short distance of Fashoda. The expedition vow postponed was to have been of a purely private nature, the expenses being borne by Mr. Cavendish himself.
