« PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS AT METEMMEH.
[PBESS ASSOCIATION.] Caibo, 22nd October. The British gunboats on the Nile made a reconnaissance and shelled Metemmeh, where the Dervishes hold possession. Five gunboats belonging to the enemy were captured.
