♦ The District Hospital Board met yesterday afternoon, the Mayor of Petone in the chair, to consider matters in connection with the proposed Otaki Cottage Hospital, the amount collected and promised is about £300, which the Government subsidy will increase to £600. The lease of two acres of Maori Milsion land has been offered for 21 years at a yearly rental of £2, with the right of renewal ,for another 21 years. The Board decided that the Chairman and Mr. Majendie should inspect the land offered, and that when the sketch plan had been approved by the Inspector-General of Hospitals Messrs. Clere & Fitzgerald should be instructed to prepare plans and specifications, the cost of the building not to exceed £500. SECOND-HAND BICYCLES FOR SALE. We have lately taken in part payment for the latest Stars several strong, useful bicycles, which we are prepared to sell very oheap, including Stars, Columbia, Premier, &c. Bicycles on hire per hour or week. Adams Star Cycle Company, Meroer-Btreet, Wellington, and 70, Manchester - street, Christchurch. — Advt.
