THE VOLUNTEERS.
There was a fair muster of the "Wellington Naval Artillery at the Mount Cook Barracks last night, considering the weather. After parade it was announced that meetings would be held at next week's Government inspection to consider the best time for the camp which is to be held instead of the Easter encampment, and to arrange for company's annual ball. One new member was sworn in. Satisfaction was expresseayat the position achieved by C.P.O. 'Williams in the Bisley competitions, aud the following are\the men selected to shoot for Messrs. Sargood & Co.'s Challenge Cup for the colony, undqr command of P.O.'s Rabe and Frederick :— Frauce, Shearer, Bult'ord, Perry, Ross, Nay lor Pov.ell, Arnold, Maginnity, E. Nixon, Broomhall. Blanche, B. Anderson, Matthews, Pedder, Anton, Sparkes, Bradley, Murray, M'Kenzie, Donaldson, Stott, and Bowater. After his inspection of the Wanganui Rifles on Tuesday Colonel Penton told the officers that the Company was, so far, the best he had seen in the colony, and a credit to thedistric.
