4. A TREA.TY SUBMITTED TO THE UNITED STATES SENATE.
[press association.] (Received June 16, 10.10 a.m.) » Washington, 15th June. A treaty is being submitted to the Senate which provides for the annexation of Hawaii by the United States. Under tho treaty it is proposed that the American -Republic should settle the form of government in the island, and assume the Hawaiian public debt on the security of the Crown lands. The approval of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Senate is reported to have been assured for the scheme.
