This is recognised as the ball of the season, and there were visitors from Wellington and every part of the district. The dresses were more beautiful than ever. The band was assisted by Messrs. J. Kearsley and M'Cornish, of Wellington. The arrangements were carried out in a perfect manner. Mr. F. H. Wood, the secretary, assisted by a strong committee of ladies, merit every credit. Mastebton, This Day. The statement in the estate of F. W. B. Greville, batikrnpt, of Pahiatua, shows the assets to be £Gl7 13s and the liabilities £2324 3s 4d. There are no less than 243 creditors. . The annual meeting of residents to receive the report of the Trust Lands Trustees was held last night. The report, showing an income for the year of nearly £900, was adopted. A man named Macdonald was arrested yesterday on a warrant issued from Wellington, charging him with stealing goods of the value of £23 from Ellen Williams, a second-hand dealer in Courtenay-place. Mr. F. Pearce's well-known racehorse Cyrus II has died at Castlepoint from inflammation.
