THE INDIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS.
4 RELIGIOUS DIFFERENCES CAUSING TROUBLE. [PBESS ASSOCIATION.] (Received January 2, 9.45 a.m.) Calcutta, Ist January. At the Indian National Congress a feeling of irritation has manifested itself, due to the fact that the Moslem section of the members complain that the Hindoo dele- j gates outnumber, them a state of affairs which they deem an injustice. The Congress has carried a resolution demanding that no native prince should be deposed from his throne until a public tribunal had proved him guilty of misconduct. It was further decided that the settlement ofj^he land revenue question should be guaranteed for 60 years. When the question of finance came up for discussion, a vote of 60,000 rupees was granted to the British Committee of the Congress to defray its expenses.
