A Lowestoft coast-guardsman captured a Belgian trawler poaching in Yarmouth waters. The capture was only made after n vigorous fight, in which many were injured. News has been received that Lieutenant Caeaait and nineteen Belgians have been killed by the Mahdists in the Adda district. The jute strikes in Dundee are collapsing. Paris, 3lst August. The French Minister for the Colonies stated in tho Chamber of Deputies that he was not aware that the Governor of Noumea was negotiating with Admiral Bridge for the control of New Hebrides.
