JIINISTKBIAI, TRAVELLING XXPENS9S. A return presented to the House Testerd*y shows the amounts drawn by Ministers by way of travelling allowances aud expenses during the year ending 31st March last. The Premier received £162 for allowances and £696 13s 7d for expenses; Sir Patrick Buckley, £59 10s and .6119 15s; Mr. Ward, .£223 10s and .£179 6a 2.1 ; Mr. M'Kenzie, .£195 and .£278; Mr. Reeves, £121 and £106 9s sd ; Mr. Cadman, £8i 10a and £50 153 4d ; Mr. Carroll, £235 10s and £108 19s 6d ; Mr. Montgomery, £9 and £4. These amounts, together with £3 19s 6i for joint expenses, make up a total of £'2635 8s lOd. In the expenses ot all the Ministers exoept Mr. Cadman and Mr. Montgomery the cost of conveyance of Ministers' secretaries and other officers is included. The expenses of the Premier's native tour through the North Island reached £ioi Sa 6d. Of this amount Mr. b'eddon received £63 as allowances and £190 7a 5d for expenses, while Mr. Carroll drew £63 as allowance and £178 2s Id for oxpenaes. OUE. EXPOBTS. The figures as to the first rix in 1803 were re-spectively-(1) £3,774.738. (2) £915,921, (3i £574.442, (4) £510;775, (5) £.154,271; (6) £1,085,167. - Flax ceased to be one of the seven chief articles, falling from £219,375 to £66,256, and tallow made a firet appearance in the first flight.
