WAIRARAPA NEWS.

(Our Own Corrtipondmt.j Masterton, This Dat. Bishop and Mrs. Wallis arrived here yesterday, and wore entertained last night at a "Booial" by the congregation of St. Abttthew'a pariah. At the annual meeting of inhabitants, held last night, the report and balance-sheet of the Town Lands Trustees were adopted, and a resolution was passed urging the necessity of taking steps to raise money for the eroction of a Town Hall. Messrs. J. Hessey and E. E. Chamberlain were nominated to-day for the vacant seat on the Masterton Town Lands Trust. An inquest on the body of the man Monk was oommenoed yesterday afternoon, but was adjourned till Saturday. A pigeon matoh was fired yesterday in connection with the North Wairarapa Gun Club for a cup presented by Mr. J. Mandel. It was won by Mr. J. Mowlem, who killed 16 oat of 17 birds.
