Among the qestions to be discussed are — International federation of Unions: establishment of the headquarters of the Intercolonial Federated Union in Sydney; inducement of the chipping companies to adopt a uniform rate of pay for seamen and equip their vessels better in the interests of the crews. A. Tr en with, one of the Labour members, moved that in order to prevent sweating in connection with Government cmtraots it was the duty of the Government to prescribe a minimum wage, and state it in the contract. The motion was acoepted by the Government and carried without dissent.
