SERIOUS CHARGE AGAINST A POLITICIAN.
'united press association. l Melbourne, 18th Soptembor. A sensational affidavit has been sworn by a labourer named M' Mahon. Ho states that a well-known member of Parliament asked him to sign a papor which he afterwards discovered was a transfer of 3(5,800 ahnroa in tho Australian City and Suburban Invostment Banking Company, now in liquidation. M'Mahou now finds himself liable for over £40,000, and socks to havo his name removed from tho list of contributors.
