Mr. Mitchelson, who asked what Bills wero to bo struck off tho Order Paper, and whethor tho (government intcmlrd to introduce it Bill to give effect to tho Dunk agreement, tho Premier suiri as tho House liiid xaul it wonld remain until Christinas, ho thought they should get all tho Bills through. He did not think there whs a Hin^'le Bill on the < nlcr Papor which if p.iHscd would not bonefit the colony. (Laughter, and oriea of " Question ") Well, porhapt- tbcro woro ono or t« - o. The financial Bills should got through this wcok, and tho Government would then know what monoy would be available for public works. Then thero wero the Nativo Bills, tho Native Affairs Committeo having nearly completod the consideration of tho Native Lands Court Bill. Tho Licensing Bill ho would liko to got through Committee early next wook and sent to the Council, and about Friday weok he would bo in a better position to say what Bills would be gone on with. It would not be possible for tho House to rise beforo tho second week of October. Ho had nothing to blame tho Opposition for as to the conduct of business. The debating was rather on his own Bide Sinco Friday last the Government had boon going into tho Bank question, but had not yet concluded its consideration. It was a matter of vory groat moment, and wonld requiro careful consideration Replying to Mr. Mitchelson, the Minister for Customs said tho rovenuo of last month was considerably above tho average of the estimate. He thought tho old system of publishing the Customs revenue every month a mistake, but would, if necessary, consider whether it should be reverted to. Replying to Mr. Mitchclson, tho Premier said ho intended to move that the reports of tho engineers on tho North Island Trunk routes bo referred to tho Kail way Committeo. .'Left sitting. j
