SHOP HOURS BILL.

4 ' TO TUB EDITOR. Sir — Will you allow me to say a few words in your valuable paper on this Bill. Whatever day is fixed for the olosing, if the drink shops are allowed to be open on that day the Hill will be a complete faroe, and many of the working classes will spend part of their wages in them, which ought to bo spent in the support of their families. We hope the Legislative Council will throw the Bill out, and not allow the liberty of the people to be trampled on. The shop assistants have got their half-holiday ; then I say let the shops alone, for if Saturday should bo fixed for the closing day it will never work, but throw everything into ooufusion, and will lead to moio poverty, orimo, and drunkenness. Should a day bo fixed to close, let it be Wednesday, lam, &c, One with a Family..
