Tho weather was ovidently made for bowlers on Saturday afternoon, and good progress was made with quite a number of interesting matohes For Sargood A Co.'s oup, only Ballinger and Crombie remain in. In the Junior Bowls, in whioh only Waddell and Montiplay remain, the deofeion is best two out of three games. On Saturday thoy got off two games, Waddell winning toe first by 21 to 14, and Mentiplay the second by 21 to 16. In the competition for Mr. Grady's gold medal (the Bkip's prizo), Sample defeated Ballinger, bnt suooumbed to Kussell, and Campbell defeated Crombie. Russell and Campbell are, therefore, left to Slay off — best two out of three to wiu. In iin handicap for Mr. Campbell's prize, L. Blundell beat Danks by 24 to 17, and then beat Ballinger by 21 to 17. White beat Boyes by 27 to 12, and Drummond beat Churohward by 22 to 18. For tho VicePreaidents prize, J. Lockie beat Whitehouso by 21 to 18, Drummond beat J. P. Campbell by 21 to 12, and Sample beat Lookio by 21 to 11. Orombio, Sample, and Drummond aro thus left in. For the Champion Pairs, Edwin and Bush defeated Cordoza and Haybittle in one of the tbreo games by 21 to 13, bnt wore defeated by their opponents in the next games by 21 to 10 and 22 to 16. The Thorndon challengers consisted of Lindsay, Rowe, W. Lambert, and M'Glashan (skip). Newtown was represented by Telford, Morris, Ewart, nnd Tustin (skip). Newtown scored first, bnt after that Thorndon took the game in hand, and won by 25 to 11. The winners were immediately challenged by Drummond, Muir, Brown, and Crombie (skip), of the Wellington Club. Tho game is expeoted to tako place on the 21st instant. Refreshments were served to their guests aud a large number of spectators by the Newtown Club, and a very enjoyable afternoon was spent.
