MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

This Dat. (Before Mr. J. C. Martin. 8.M.) DRUNKBNNIBS. Three first offenders were punished. INDKCINCT. John Donovan and Eugene Carey pleaded Not Guilty to the charge of having committed aots of indeconoy in Lombard-street, a lane off Mannere-street, on Saturday afternoon. They were convicted, and were sent to gaol for 14 days' imprisonment with hard labour. Both prisoners were also treated as first offenders for drunkenness. VAORANCT. Eliza Beagario, a middle-aged woman, who has frequently boen before the Court as a rogue and vagabond, and also for drunkenness, was again charged with being an idle and disorderly person. Constables Cameron, Wilson, and Bishop proved thtt the prisoner was soliciting on tho reclaimed land on Saturday night, and that the woman 11 constantly haunting, tho reclaimed land for immoral purposes. She was sent to gaol for six months, with bard labour. Carrio Hope, one of the same class, who has frequently been before tho Court, was remanded on her own bail till to-morrow, with the warning that if she does not leave the oity before to-morrow sho will be sent to gaol for biz months. Donald M'Leaa, who makes periodical compulsory visits to the Court, indignantly domed an impeaobment that he was an idlo and disorderly person. He said he was not idle, and had money in the bank. In order to give him an opportunity to prove the latter assertion he was remanded till later in tho day. LABCSNT. James Oaman Ward pleaded Guilty to the . laroeny of n. watob, valued at £5, tho property of John Brosnan. Inspeotor Pender slid the prisoner lived in tho same house as did the informant, and during the lattor's temporary absence stole the watoh, which he Gold for 10s to the lioenseo of the To Aro Hotel, stating that it was his own. The prisoner assured his Worship that he was drunk at tho time. The S.M. said in that case he would give the prisoner time to get quito sober, and aIBO an opportunity to rehabilitate himeelf as an honest man. Aooused was sent to gaol for one month's hard labour.
