Bulls, This Dat. On Friday afternoon a fire broke out in the bush at the baok of Bulls, and on Saturday morning a strong wind sprang up, and carried the flames ia tbe direction of houses on the Bridge- road. The townspeople turned out in large numbers, and snocecded in preserving the houses, although Eevorol times the shingle roofs oaught fire. The furniture was removed from two of them. Considerable damage was done to fences and grass. Rain set in shortly after midnight, and prevented '"rther spread of tho fi>«. In the Smdon distriot, bush fires were also ragintr on Friday and Saturday, and the utmost difficulty waß experienced in keeping the flameß from several farmhouses and woolsheds. The damage done to grass and fenoes is very great, and the loss to farmers will be heavy. Stratford, This Dat. Serious bush fires sprang up all over the distriot on Saturday, and several houses and a large number of sheds, fences, and haystaoks were burned. A repetition of the great fire of 1886 was only prevented by the rain which fell on Saturday night.
