In the case of Trask v. the Railway Commissioners, at the Distriot Contt to-day, a claim of J2115 for damage to trap, &c, through an engine collining with it while going over a private crossing, the jury returned a verdiot for .£55 10s and costs. The Judge gave counsel for the Commissioners' leave to argue a nonsuit point at next sitting. Mr. VYarburton, of Palmerston North appeared for the plaintiff and Messrs. Skerrett, of Wellington, and Hankins, of Palmerston, for the defendants.
