(Our Own Correspondent.) Palmerston Nobth, This Day. Tho police arrested a man named Andrew Thompson at Cheltenham yesterday on a ahargo of assault oa Uavid Golding. Accused is alleged to bo an accomplice of Hill nud M 'earthy, who wore sentenced last week at the Wellington Supreme Court for violent assault on the same complainant. Acoused was brought np at the Polico Court this morning, and remanded till Tuesday. |onit*d pkeBs association.! Auckland, This Dai. At a meeting of the Board of Education yesterday, a discussion took place regarding the Chief Inspeotor who is to be appointed. At a meeting last night Captain Pophtin was elected President, w ith a strong committee.
