THE VOLUNTEERS.
The Wellington Rifles paraded at the Volunteer Drillshed last night for monthly inspection by Liout.-Colonol Nowall. Thoro were 28 men present, under command of Captain Brandon. Tho inspecting officer expressed himself very well satisfied with tho arms, accoutrements, and appointments. After the company had beon put through sovoral exercises and skirmishing drill, Licut.-Colonol Newall complimented the men on tho manner in which they had gone through them, and ho also paid a very high compliment to the corps for thoir behavionr during the late Easter encampment ; also for the soldierly manner in which tbey mounted guard on that occasion. The company was afterwards put through the manual and firing exercises by Lieutenant Duthie. Tho attention of the membors of tho D Battery is called to tho advertisement in another colninn.
