FOOTBALL.
Much important business awaits transaction at tho N.Z.R.U. meeting, to bo held at the Club Hotel at 7.30 this evening. The work of tbo past year will bo reviewed, the proposed English touc of 1894 considered, the attitude to bo assumed by tho Union during tho coming season discussed, officers elected, by-laws considered, tho mode of solocting the team to leave for Australia in Juno decided, New Zealand national colours adopted, and there will bo a variety of matters of interest to the footballors of the colony. The West Coast Rugby Union will apply for affiliation. This Union, which has its head-quarters at Groymouth, has jurisdiction over 14 clubs— five senior and nine junior —and is making rapid progress. Under tho rules of the JN.Z.R.U., Unions are allowed delegates in proportion to tho_ number of teams playing in their competitions. A Union entitled to the maximum number of votes — three— can have oither throe delegates or three votes for one delogato. The following are the delegates expected at this evening's meeting, and the voting power of their Unions: — Auckland, 3 votes, L. Coupland ; Hawkes Bay, 2, T. Morrison: Manawatn, 1, R. Oliphant; Marlborough, 1, P. P. Webb; Nelson, 1, G. bimpson; South Canterbury, 2, H. J. M'Lean ; Taranaki. 1, T. S. Ronaldson ; Wairarapa, 2, S. Nicholls ; Wanganui, 2, I. Hyams and G. Bullock ; Wellington, 3, G. F. Campbell, J. M. King, and T. R. Ellison ; West Coast, 2, J. W. Card and E. Eatchelor. Mr. G. P. Hayloy, the Vice-President nominated by the Taranaki Union, and Mr. E. D. Hoben, tho Hon. Sec, will also be present, and delegates are especially desired to observe punctuality, as the business will tako some time.
