The Guards' Prize Distribution.
There was a large attendanco at the concert held last night by the Wellington Guards in connection with their annual distribution of prizes. Amongst the visitors were the Defence Minister, Lieut. -Col. Newall, Major Lovedoy, and others officers representing other corps. Vocal items were contributed by Mrs. Mackintosh, Mis 3 Wilson (encored), Mr. Nairn, and tho Hon. Mr. Seddon, the last-named gentleman receiving an enthusiastic encore, while recitations wore contributed by Capt. Paterson and Col.-Sergt. Hale, and tho Garrison Band contributed an instrumental quartet. The accompaniments were played by Mr. J. Maginnity, junr. The prizes won last season were presented by Miss Seddon (who was afterwards given a hearty vote of thanks) as follows :—: — Class A. — Pvt. A. Ballinger, trophy presonted jointly by Sergt.
