The Guards continued the competition at the Polhill Gully range yesterday morning forß and C class trophies. The ranges were 200, 300, and 500 yds, 5 shots at each, with Snider rifles, any position, and the scores were as follows : — 200 300 500 Tl. A Government inspection parade of the Wellington Rifles was held last night at the DriUshed, Sorgt.-Major Finn being inspecting officer in the absence of Major Newall from the district. Capt. Hobday and Lieut. Isherwood were present. After the parade the company was exercised in squad drill. Eight new members were elected during the evening.
