CRICKET.
Tho members of Mr. Walter Bentley's Dramatic Company triumphed over the team representing the Law, in tho match which was played on the Basin Reserve yesterday afternoon. The theatricals scored 105, Whelan making 38, Gamble 23, and Waters 14. The lesal team put together only 90, of which Upham scored 26, Ellison 14, and Wilson 13, thus losing th ., match by 15 runs. Foster and Whelan bowled well for the winning team, and Upbam and Luckie for their side. A match was also played during the afternoon between elevens captained by Poutawera and Sanderson, ana was won by the latter's team by 6 runs. The scores were :—: — Pontawera's team, G4 (Benbow 19, F. ABhbolt 13, not out). Sanderson's team, 70 (Webb 14, Ellis 13, not out, Coltman 10). Newbold and Coltman were best with the leather for the victors, and Hinoholiffe and Benbow for the losers. Wellington College juniors played a cricket match this morning against the Mount Cook Boys' School, and won by 105 to 71. Blow, Curtis, and Home were the largest scorers for the College, and Thomson for Mount Cook.
