A meeting of the Net* Zealand Brass and Military Bands Association was held on Saturday night, Representatives attended from Christohuroh, Dunedin, Inveroargill, and Oamaru, and several other bands is both Islands were represented by pro*y. It was decided to* hold a contest under the dtfspioes of the Association in Dnnedin in the laßt week of November details to be arranged by a looal committee. It was resolved that the contest pieoe bo secured through Mr. Wright, and it is to bespeoially arranged for brass bands, add oontain Boloa for all the leading instruments. A general nfeeting tfill b« hsld during the Easter encampment at Oarttaru for the eleotion of om'oers for the consideration of oonteat rules. A motion that Mr. Dan Godfrey ba appointed to seleot the oonteat pieoe was lost. It was tinanimotiily resolved that the rule fixing entranoe fee Of bands joirtinj? the Assooiation after the SOth September, 1800. at 3s, be rescinded. Three bands applied for affiliation, nfaking 2$ now in the ABBOoiation.
