A petition wbb lodged this afternoon by Mr. John Drake against the return of Mr. R. Reevos for Inangahua. Sir R. Stout and Mr Free, of Reefton, have been retained for the petitioner. It is understood that the petition has been lodged under the 29th clause of the Eleotion Petitions Act, 1880, thus making the Returning Officer the respondent. So far as can bo learned the grounds are that votes were disallowed that should have been allowed, also other irregnlaritios on the part of the Returning Officer. The case will probably be heard in Nelson.
