It is stated that freights to the colonies will be reduced by 2s 6d at once. 12th May. Fine Black Horse salt, 42s 6d per ton; coarse, do, 33s 3d. Candles — Deronbain, Genart Company's leading brands, 4jd per lb. Tallow is rising, medium mutton being now quoted at 265. The English wheat market is depressed and the Continental ia unchanged; the American has an upward tendency. Australian flour, stone-mado, averages 275 ; New Zealand ditto, 255. Wheat, forward business is activ«. The arrivals of foreign wheat are large. Australian off-coast oargoes realised 33s sd. Newcastle, Tbjs Day. Sailed— Lindus, b.s., for Lyttelton.
