The Centennial Rifle Meeting. [By Telegraph.] (Our Own Correspondent.)

Wanoanui, Mis Dat. 1 Capt. Sommerville writes from Melbourne as to the Centennial shooting :— The arrangements were not up to the mark, and the New Zealanders decidedly disapproved of the alterations made in the programme. He was pleased with the New Zealand men, but says that however hospitable Victoria may I , have been in the past this is not the case at Dresent, and beyond putting the officers down at the Club, nothing has been made of the team. He was inclined to think they were looked on with Bnspioion, and as they had been shooting well atpractioe they were watched carefully. They were not allowed to enter for any rifle club matches, and the cake goes to the Victorian men, who say the money was voted for them, and couldnot be given to outsiders. A match has been arranged with tho Sydney men on their way home. From what he could see there is no love lost between the Sydney and Melbourne .volnnteers, owing to New Sonth Wales having won the International Match last year. At the time of writing (13th Nov.) the team were all well.
