On Saturday tho Guards fired their first match this season between two toams of ten mon each, picked by Liouts. Coogan and Mackintosh, tho sonior and junior lieutenants. Tho conditions wore five shots at 200, 400, and 500 yards. Lieut. Coogan's team proved victorious with 435 points against their opponents 381, thus winning by 54 points. Tho many friends of Captain Marshall, Musketry Instructor, will bo pleased to learn that he has almost recovered from tho attack of fever and ague whioh has prostrated him for some days, and which prevented him from attending the parade of C and F companies on Friday last. Captain Marshall will not bo able to take part in tho parade of the Kaiwarra Rifles this evening. A meoting of the Garrißon Band Amusement Committee will be nold at tho Volunteor Drillshed on Thursday next, at 7.30 p.m.
