TWO OHILDREN BURNT TO DEATH. [By Telegraph. I [united pbkbs association.") Auckland, 17th September. A singular fatal accident ocenred at Hobsonville to a two-year-old child, a daughter of Mr. G. A. Field. The little one was passing beneath a barbed-wire fence, when the strings of her hood caught, leaving her suspended on the fence. The child waR discovered hanging, and quito dead, shortly afterward. This Day. John M'Culloch, stonebreakcr, was found drowned in the harbour on Sunday morning, with £2 9s in his pockets. The wife of the deceased had not seen him sinco he loft for his work on Saturday morning. About midnight on Saturday the house of Stephen Clark, settler at Swanson, was burned down, and two of his children, Ada Isabella, aged seven, and Ada Bentley, aged four, were burned to death while sleeping. Clark awoke and found tho plaoe on fire. He succeeded in saving his wife, who is an invalid, and one child. In trying to save the other two he got badly burned. Feilding, Thib Day. A boy, five years old, a son of Mr. Neary, a saddler, was tossed by a cow yesterday afternoon. His leg was broken, and he received other injuries of a less serious character.
