Crossbreds and good superior merinos, especially greasy, vory firm; medium scoured and greasy wore id, and inferior and faulty sorts Id below closing rates in July. The strongest demand was for homo trade. German buyers were reserved, while those from France bought freely in grades that suited their requirements. There was an absence of support from America. One hundred and twentyeight thousand bales wore catalogued, of whioh number fourteen thousand wero withdrawn. leeuter'b telegrams. I (Received September 19, 1.25 p.m.) Rio de Janeiro, 17th September. The New Zealand Shipping Company's R.M.S. Kaikoura arrived hero yesterday. Her cargo of meat was in good condition. Capetown, 17th September. The New Zealand Shipping Company's R.M.S. Rimutaka arrived here to-day from Plymouth.
