Resumed yoyageat4.lsp.m., and reached Honolulu at 6 a.m.' on 30th July- L/eft for San Francisco at noon on th.c same day, Heavy head winds prevailed during remainder of voyage, which delayed arrival of steamer till early Sunday morning, August 7, when dense fog prevented steamer getting into harbonr till afternoon. Special arrangements were made for despatch of mails east same day, but they failed to catch following Saturday's steamer from New York. It was not till Wednesday, 17th Aagust, that mails left for Queenstown by the Anchor steamship City qf Rome. The lost instalment of American mai)p for the colonies was delayed on the. pverlapd jqurney from New York, and at the request of the American postal authorities I gave nptice to delay the departure of the steamer fpr two hours in order to allow of l&to mails coming on by the Zealandia. The |snal instalment con> sjsted of 88 bags, 20 of which were for New Zealand. Theeo would have been left over for four weeks had the steamer sailed on time, as the agents wished. The Zealandia got away on return voyage at 4 p.m. on 26th August, heavily laden with oargo and with a crowded passenger list. She arrived at Honolulu at 5 p.m. on 2nd September, and left again at 1.30 a.m. on 3rd ; made Tutuila on 10th September at 12.10 p.m., and Btarted for Auckland at 12 30. Arrived at Tiritiri on 17th September, at 7 a.m. The Zealandia brings 270 bags of mails for New Zealand officei, which is heavier than usual. Increase is principally accounted for by American correspondence left over at San Francisco from last steamer. Late arrival at Auckland is due to heavy weather experienced since leaving the Navigators. Amongst the Pftßsengers js Sjr W, Fitzherbprt, who proposes going on to Wellington at once.— A. p. DbtDin, ijaij Agent."
